:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: The Horn of Friends ......................... Appearance: Made by the folks of the Witch Woods only the finest materials are used in the construction of the horn. It is 15 inches in length, 4 inches wide at the mouth and 3/4 an inch at the nipple. The nipple tip and first 1 inch of the mouth are made from white ivory with runes written in blue sapphires. Aside from the nipple tip and mouth end, the rest of the horn is made from black ivory. A 17 inch chain is connected from the base of the mouth the nipples base; the chain itself is of white doeskin strips, intertwined with sallow colored gold wire. When the horn is sounded (which can only be done by someone with a P.E. of 14 or greater, or have less than half their hit points left) an eery fog of black, white, amber, and blue mist will issue from the mouth. The fog will cover a 30 foot by 30 foot area with 6 seconds. All within the fog are at -2 to hit; visibility is 1 foot. The horn of friends will call forth deceased friends of the blower to aid him. The number of friends that will appear depends on the number that have died. If the PC is fortunate to have lost none of his friends then 1d4+1 mercenary fighters, and 1d2 magic users will appear. These "friends" will fight or help the PC for 30+1d10 melees. The friends will be equipped in the same manner they were at the time of their death. If no equipment was present or it is the NPC-friends they will be equipped with chain armor (AR 13), long sword (1d8), and hit points equal to their average foe plus 10. After their time has expired the "friends" will fade away, all possessions give to the PCs will also fade away. When the "friends" arrive they can give the PCs draughts to drink, which contain a healing wine that will heal all lost hit points; in addition, it will give a temporary 2 point increase to the drinker's P.E. for 1d4 melees. When the friends are seen by the PC they will have a look of sorrow about them, a pleading look in their eyes. Whatever wounds or reason the friends died of will appear pink on their pallid, white skin. Every time the horn is used all creature within a mile radius loss 1,000 experience points, this is the energy needed to draw the friends forth. 1% of the horn of friends can summon 5d10 banshees, which will be under the PCs control.
