Helmet of Eyes
.........................

Appearance: At first glance the Helm of Eyes looks like a battered oversize
copperesh-green helm with no eye slits. When worn the helmets edge comes
down to just above the nose. The helm has 3 eyes spaced around the lower half
which appear only while it is being worn, when taken off they disappear. The
shapes are that of a circle, then a square, and a triangle.

If anyone other than a blind person should try the helmet they we detect none
of its abilities. A blinded person will become immediately aware of the helmets
capabilities.

The circular eye is used for normal sight but can shoot a beam of immoblization
(save vs. spell magic or be paralyzed for 2 - 8 melees).

The square eye endows the wearer with telescopic and microscopic sight.
Objects in the distance are viewed at the ratio of 100 feet per mile.
Something at 5 miles would be seen as it were at 500 feet, etc. The
microscopic vision gives the wearer +1 to detect hidden doors, secret
doors and pits, trapped locks, etc.

The triangular eye has the power to examine objects as it were an x-ray.
When used the wearer can see through objects up to 2 feet in thickness.
This vision does not allow the wearer to see through living objects, but
the wearer can see through their equipment or disguise.

The Helm of Eyes was created by the Wizard Candusose for the blinded
warrior Helenabar during the Second Humanoid War. In return for his bounded
service Candusose agreed to build the helmet. Helenabar served faithfully
for 3 years before he was defeated at the hands of the Warlock Knight
Madock. Last known the helm rested in the Madock's treasure room.
