Notes:
In this case, having high latency for handling of SMTP on this server is okay óÝthe only machine(s) that ever contact it via SMTP are our own front-end mail servers, and we can safely design this part of the system for maximum throughput as opposed to minimum latency.
Please note that this is not the normal case for servers which speak SMTP to external machines.
